Data FAQ
Answers to common questions about Rankfield's Site Strength, referring domains and web graph data.
Why is a domain missing?
It is not in the current web graph release, so the API answers 200 with "inGraph": false and zeros. That does not mean the domain is offline or has no links: our crawl data may not include a page that links to it.
Why is referringDomains null?
The domain is in the graph, but its count was unavailable for the lookup. null keeps "unknown" apart from a measured zero.
Why is topReferrers empty?
There is no detail for this domain in the index. It does not prove that no site links to it.
Does a higher Site Strength mean more traffic?
No. It describes link evidence in the graph. It does not estimate visits, rankings or conversions.
Can I compare Site Strength with Moz or Ahrefs?
Not directly. Those scores use their own indexes, scales and methods. Compare Rankfield scores with each other.
Does the web graph see every link?
No. It records the links on the pages that the crawls behind it fetched, so counts and lists can be lower than a full backlink index.
How often does the data change?
When a new web graph release is built from newer crawls and loaded. Check Get Dataset Status for the release in use.
